5 Lakes Lane Association
The 5 Lakes Lanes Association is a registered Not for Profit Corporation.
The Association’s primary mandate is to arrange for lane maintenance for Meredith Lane, and snow clearing for all the lanes, for the benefit of all. This work is funded by the collection of fees from the people who own property here. The fee structure is recommended by the Board and approved by the membership at an Annual General Meeting.
The Association may fund or manage other miscellaneous projects as required.

President – Mark Valiquette
My Wife Kerri and I have been residents at 3021B Old Fourteen Island Lane since 1995. We became full time residents in 2016 and love this community. I have been an active member of the Lanes Association since 2019. As President I will attempt keep you all updated on what we are up to and any and all major Lane information as it comes to me. You might see me out riding around in Kerri’s Orange Tractor or out on a daily walk with Dottie our daughter’s puppy. If there is ever anything you need regarding the work we do, please reach out to me and I will be happy to look into it for you.

Vice President – Ian Mackay
I am the newest member of the Road Executive, but one of the older members of this community. Back in 1985, while living in Kingston, Jane and I learned that new cottage properties were opening up on a lake close to Verona. We chose to take a look at several of them that were still available. One look was all it took!
We settled on lot 9, on condition that a road into this lot be built. Our initial visit was just a hike into this property on a hot sunny day in July, complete with deer flies! Building began in 1988, a round log home structure, and was completed the following year. For many years we used it as a cottage, but since 2012 it has become our permanent retirement home. Early on, we chose to call our wooded treasure “Beinn Oran”, two Gaelic words, translated into English as “Mountain Song”.
We believe it speaks well for us as a family and for the special place where all nature sings. We have three sons, and now three grandchildren who, in their years growing up, enjoy and value cottage life and all it has to offer. Our two grandsons are accomplished bagpipers and you will know they are in residence when the sound of their pipes echoes across the waters.
We are grateful to be part of this mighty fine community. And, we are ever so happy to have a well-engineered road system (a big improvement from those early days) that gets us to wherever we need or want to go. What a pleasure to be part of such a caring and productive team of volunteers!

My husband Alex and I have lived on Meredith Lane for two wonderful years. Each day we are excited to see which flying, crawling, swimming or walking creatures are going to stop by for a visit. We have three adult children and a large extended family we enjoy sharing our time and home with. We also love to travel and explore the world. We are both retired and are living our “happily ever after” in this little piece of heaven. We plan to stay until our knees can no longer handle the hilly terrain at which point we hope our three children will continue to come with their families and enjoy the lake and time together.
We feel very blessed to have found this beautiful place and great community.

Secretary – Cheryl Fischer
My husband, Mike, and I have been savouring every moment at Little John Lake since we bought our parcel of bare land on Old Mine Lane. Through the Covid years, we managed to erect a small cabin, gazebo and dock, but we hope to have a permanent home here in the near future. We enjoy swimming, hiking, biking, paddling skiing and snowshoeing in this beautiful place. Life is good in Kingston, but it’s even better at the lake! Now that our sons are leaving home, maybe it’s time for a change.

Road Manager – Dave Lucas
I am a technical rep in the dental industry. For over 40 years I have been installing, maintaining and repairing the equipment found in a dental office. Retirement is on the horizon and looking forward to spending more time here at the lake. We have lived at 3037 Old 14 Island Lane since Nov 2016. Prior to this we were living between Buck Lake and our house on Ashley Cres in Kingston. Karen, Addysen and I feel so fortunate to be a part of the lake community here. We have met many wonderful people and look forward to what the future holds for us in our little piece of paradise.

Director at Large – Peter Bedoukian
I have been a full time resident since 2009, having retired here from Toronto. I live in my DIY straw bale house at the end of Old Mine Lane, and enjoy all that this excellent community has to offer. For a time I was president of the road association (both Meredith and OML), and have lent my meager construction skills for the repair of the garbage boxes (with Carl Turner) and the construction of the little library in the recycling building (with Alan Boyce).
Hobbies include cycling, hiking, kayaking, wood working and website building (like this one).
I love it here, and hope to stay a while longer.

Director at Large – Kim St-Onge
Hi! My partner Peter & I have been living in our home on Mink Trap Lake with our 2 little girls (Molly, our dog & Buttonz our kitty) for the past 6 & a half years & love our little piece of heaven on earth.
