Township Bylaws

Hopefully we will all treat our neighbours with respect, but just in case, these Township Bylaws are included here for reference.

Here is a copy of the Township bylaw re dogs.

Section 4c and 4d are particularly relevant.

c) The owner of a dog shall keep the dog leashed and under the control of some person when the dog is on land in the municipality other than the land owned by the owner of the dog, unless prior consent is given by the person owning the land on which the dog is found.

d) No owner shall allow the dog to defecate on any property, other than the property owned by the owner of the dog, or other property by permission of the owner of the land on which the dog is found, unless the dropping are forthwith cleaned up.

Here is a copy of the Noise Bylaw, which also covers fireworks.

It’s wordy, so here is the essential bit:

Schedule 1 Item 7: Fireworks are not permitted any time from January 1 to the Friday of the Victoria Day weekend, and from the Tuesday following the Victoria Day holiday to June 30 and from July 5 to December 31.

In positive terms they are permitted Victoria Day weekend and Canada Day weekend.

Here is a copy of the same Noise Bylaw, which covers not only Fireworks (see above), but also operation of machinery, loudspeakers and generally making noise to the detriment of your neighbours enjoyment of their property.
